TigerFlight receives AllState grant

The Allstate Foundation has honored Rome Allstate Insurance Agent Mike Britton by awarding a $1,000 Allstate Agency Hands in the Community Grant to TigerFlight Foundation based at Rome’s Richard B. Russell Regional Airport, Rome.

The grant comes as a result of Britton’s ongoing volunteer efforts on behalf of TigerFlight, and is intended to benefit TigerFlight operational support and program funding.

Britton serves as one of the volunteer TigerFlight pilots who donate their time, aircraft, and fuel to offer first flight opportunities to students age 11-17. The free flights are typically scheduled on the second Saturday of each month. In 2013, TigerFlight provided over 250 first flights.

In addition to the monthly flights, Britton flew 15 teachers during a special event last fall during a partnership event with Kennesaw State University.
